While the rumor cannot be substantiated that Danno was born with a toy car in one hand and a wrench in the other (and his mother totally denies any such thing), we do know that he was fascinated with cars and trucks from an early age; how they were built, what made them go, and how to fix them when they stopped.
As a youth, Danno began collecting MatchBox and HotWheels models (and still maintains his collection), while learning as much as he could about the real thing.

Danno's thirst for
automotive information landed him his first job - working part-time after
school and on weekends in Uncle Bob's auto junkyard.
After completing his formal education Danno put the informal knowledge base
that he had been building since childhood to the test, when he went into the
bodyshop repair business. Danno would spend the next twelve years fixing
everything from dents and dings to the most serious damage sustained in major
collisions.
During this time, Danno continued to live and work in and around the areas of Carlisle and Hershey, Pennsylvania, not far from where he had grown up.
The next phase of Danno's life however, took him in a series of new and completely different directions, including a move to Florida and a change to a totally non-vehicle related career. Even so, he continued to keep his automotive skills honed by doing maintenance on his personal vehicles and acting as an after-hours shade tree mechanic/vehicle repair consultant for his friends.

In 1985, Danno became
the proud owner of a 1964 GTO 4-speed convertible with power windows and
factory air, which he's been restoring ever since. Hey, he's been a busy guy,
plus he likes to take his time and get things right.
He also joined the Sunshine State GTO
Association and began attending car shows and swap meets in search of
parts for his "goat". These activities set him on the path that would
eventually bring his life back around full circle.

Danno took early
retirement in 1997, planning to take it easy & work on his GTO . Instead he
accepted the opportunity to become a wholesaler/dealer for
Moulded Parts,
manufacturers of automotive replacement weatherstripping.
He was familiar with Metro as a satisfied customer and had used their products
extensively in the restoration of his '64 GTO and other vehicles.
Danno decided he would also represent a small but select group of other vehicle restoration product manufacturers such as:
